Jalal Gasimov completed his undergraduate studies in Economics at Azerbaijan State University of Economics and obtained his postgraduate degree in Economic Relations at the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy and an MBA from Warwick Business School.
Jalal Gasimov started his banking career in 1999 at İlkbank OJSC, Azerbaijan. Between 2002-2003, he held various positions in the finance sector of private companies. From 2003-2004, he served as the Finance Director at Azpetrol Oil Company, and from 2004-2006, he was the Deputy Chairman of the Board at Azpetrol Holding. Subsequently, Gasimov held positions at McKinsey & Company in their Moscow office, as CEO at Bank of Baku, as Finance Director in CRA Group Companies, and as CEO at Unibank. In 2015, he joined PASHA Holding as the Banking Group President and Acting CEO. He served as the Deputy CEO of PASHA Holding from October 2016 to December 2019, and in January 2020, he was appointed as the CEO of PASHA Holding. Jalal Gasimov also served as a member of the Working Groups / Project Teams established in February 2016 by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to create various government initiatives. Since 2016, Jalal Gasimov has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Azerbaijan Deposit Insurance Fund. He has been part of the working group for the establishment of the Azerbaijan Mortgage and Credit Guarantee Fund and served as a member of the Advisory Council of the Azerbaijan Bankers Association from July 2015 until the beginning of 2021. Gasimov has served as an Independent Member of the Board of Directors at MTBank Belarus for 5 years and at Saba Poultry Azerbaijan for 3 years.
He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Azerbaijan Supermarkets (Bravo), Food City Agropark, and PASHA Management Company, and a Board Member at PASHA Sigorta, PASHA Hayat, PASHA Yatırım, and Kapital Bank. Jalal Gasimov joined the Board of Directors of PASHA Investment Bank Inc. on August 17, 2015, and has been serving as the Chairman of the Board since March 31, 2017.
